In Saturday’s Xfinity race at Fontana International Speedway Cole Custer won that one. Anthony Alfredo of Ridgefield, CT, was also a winning contender, and cracked the top five, in one of Chris Our’s team cars.
Brett Moffitt, who also drives one of Chris Our’s entries, came in 19th. Our is a successful building contractor and calls Harwich, MA home. Not so lucky was Boston’s Kaz Grala, who had to pit for a flat tire and other issues and ended up 25th.
In Sunday’s NASCAR Cup race it was Kyle Larson took home all of the all of the marbles to posting his first win of the 2022 season. Middletown, CT’s Joey Logano, who was a contender all afternoon, ended his day in fifth place. Not so fortunate was Corey LaJoie who came in 28th. Corey’s dad is Randy LaJoie of Norwalk, CT a two time Xinity Division Champion.
At the same time there was plenty of action in the NHRA Finals in Phoenix, AZ where Bob Tasca, III of Hope, RI made it through the Funny Car Quarter Finals. But that was it when he lost out to Robert Hight. Hight then went into the Finals and came out the winner.
