Ryan Kuhn of East Bridgewater and his race team spent the winter at hard work in his shop for the first Super Late Model race at Hickory Motor Speedway in NC and other events in 2022. “We started our season off running with the Pro All Stars Series for both Easter Bunny 150’s last weekend,” said Ryan.. He finished 14th at the second race among some 34 entries but got sidelined in a wreck during the the first event.
His efforts are supported by Everett Auto Parts of Brockton and several other local sponsors. His next opportunities to shine will take place at Thompson Speedway in CT on Sunday, April 3 then the one-mile New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon on Saturday, April 16 followed by the Spring Sizzler at Stafford Speedway on Sunday, April 24. Ryan will also compete in selected ACT Tour Late Model events in 2022.
We have some opening dates for the popular cruise nights at Patriot Place in Foxborough (MA Cruisers of Norfolk) starting on Thursday night, April 7 and the cruise night at the Raynham Flea Market (Wheels of Time of Brockton) on April 14. Those two clubs will alternate Thursday nights right up into the end of October.
The Friday night Cruisers at the Episcopal Church in Canton at the foot of Big Blue Hill will start on April 22. There will also be a Tuesday cruise night at Cobb’s Corner in Canton starting on April 4. Traditionally the Scituate Connecting Rods open up on Friday night May 6 at Walmart’s on Rt. 106 in Halifax.
New England is getting ready for some big openings this spring and summer. The Monster Energy SuperX will be back at Gillette Stadium on Saturday, April 23 after a two year absence. Also coming up is the NHRA National on June 3-5 at New England Dragway in Epping, NH and the big NASCAR Weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon in mid-July.
Among the short tracks offering the popular Tour Type Modifieds are Thompson Speedway in CT which has the Icebreaker on the weekend of April 1-3. Stafford Speedway in CT offers the 50th Annual Spring Sizzler on Sunday, April 20 which will pay the winner $15,000.
The Capeway Rovers on the Middleborough/Carver town line started their Sunday MotoX races earlier this month and will continue on until mid-November. That club started way back in the early 1930’s and continues to develop talent for the AMA National ArenaX and SuperX circuits. A few of them in past years included JoJo Keller and Keith Johnson both of Pembroke.
