How New Englanders Fared at Daytona Speed Weeks

Ricky Standhouse, Jr. won Sunday’s  2023 Daytona 500 while NASCAR Defending Champion  Joey Logano of Middletown, CT came in second with Corey LaJoie placing 16th.  Corey is the son of two-time Xfinity Champion Randy Lajoie of Norwalk, CT.  Not so fortunate was Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT who finished 36th.

The Xfinity race on Saturday was taken by A. Hill. Jeb Barton came in 11th in the  Chris and Mary Our’s Team that reside in Harwich, MA.  Parker Kligerman of Westport, CT finished in 23rd.  Placing 24th was Anthony Alfredo of Ridgefield, CT in the other Our entry. Kaz Grala of Boston ended his day finishing 32nd.
In Friday’s Truck race Zane Smith came home the winner with Corey LaJoie placing 24th and Parker Kligerman in 32nd.
Also on Friday was the Menard’s ARCA 200 with Rockland, MA native Dale Quarterley coming in tenth at the finish.  Previous to all that Dale was running fourth for much of that race.  Greg Van Alst was the winner of that event.
