MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Ahead of the release of their new book NASCAR Champions: Every Cup Series Champion from 1949 to Today, veteran motorsports authors H.A. Branham and Holly Cain will appear at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday, April 26, joining two‑time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch for a fan Q&A prior to the Jack Link’s 500 NASCAR Cup Series race.
The Q&A will take place at 11:25 a.m. CT on the NASCAR Experience Stage in the infield of the iconic 2.66‑mile oval. Earlier in the weekend, on Friday, April 24, Branham and Cain will participate in a 3:30 p.m. CT press conference in the track’s infield media center. The award‑winning journalists previously co‑authored NASCAR Mavericks, published by Motorbooks in 2024.
The officially licensed NASCAR Champions, publishing April 28, chronicles every title winner in the history of the Cup Series – thirty‑six champions through 2025 – with in‑depth profiles of their careers, defining seasons, and lasting impact on the sport. The book opens with a playful twist: a foreword by Mark Martin, widely regarded as the greatest driver to never win the Cup Series Championship. Its afterword, delivered by 1960 champion Rex White just days before his passing at age 95, adds a poignant historical coda.
Between those bookends, readers will find a chronological showcase of rarely seen and newly unearthed images from the NASCAR Archives, paired with storytelling that channels the unfiltered, behind‑the‑scenes spirit of NASCAR Mavericks. The result is a vivid, era‑spanning journey into the heart of stock‑car racing.
