Here’s how New England-connected drivers did this past weekend at Atlanta…
Daniel Suarez won the Cup race by inches. Corey LaJoie finished 13th. Boston’s Kaz Grala took 14th place. Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT managed to earn 16th. Not as lucky was Middletown, CT’s Joey Logano, a two-time NASCAR Cup Champion, who ended his efforts in 28th due to an accident.
Corey LaJoie is the son of Two- Time Xfinity Champion Randy LaJoie who grew up in Norwalk, CT.
The Xfinity race went like this. Austin Hill took down the win with Anthony Alfredo of Ridgewood, CT coming in seventh, Kyle Weatherman was 17th with Parker Kligerman of Westport, CT finished 10th while Blair Perkins had to settle with 30th place.
Weatherman and Perkins both drive team cars for Cape Cod’s Chris and Mary Our who get their mail in Harwich, MA.
